Wigan Athletic - Bruce sets sights on Danny Haynes

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce was at Ipswich Towns game with West Ham last night as he continues his search for a forward to act as cover for Emile Heskey and Amr Zaki.

Bruce was reportedly watching Ipswich striker Danny Haynes who has been at Portman Road since 2005

Haynes is a player that Bruce first monitored whilst he was at Birmingham and he took the opportunity to not only re-acquaint himself with Haynes but also take in Latics opponents for the first game of the season, West Ham.

West Ham won the game 5-3 but Bruce left Portman Road before the final whistle when Danny Haynes was substituted.

The 20 year old has also been linked with a move to Portsmouth and is reportedly the subject of attention from a host of Premier League clubs.

Hmmm a new name to be linked with

Haynes is a real good player, lots of pace, good goal scorer and can also play on the right wing (ideal for bench). I say (at a good price) get him signed before all interest from other clubs comes in.
