Joel Thomas wants Wigan Contract

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is running the rule over young French trialist Joel Thomas who is currently training with the Latics

Thomas played the last 10 minutes of the friendly at Hibs coming on as a replacement for Amr Zaki and he looked fired up to say the least.

The former Kaiserslautern and Bordeaux player has had a trial at Kilmarnock last month but that came to nothing and it seems he is giving his all in an attempt to earn a stay at the Latics

Latics boss Steve Bruce told Setanta Sports:

"He`s a kid, a boy who is trying to earn a contract and he`s been training with us for four or five days and we have liked what we have seen"

"He is a bit over zealous, but his enthusiasm was terrific and it`s better than being the other way"
