Wigan - The players need to smell the hot dogs

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce cant wait for the season to start properly and he says the players are chomping at the bit to get going.

The Latics have just finished playing the last of the preseason friendlies on 'home` soil where they have beaten Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday and SPL side Hibernian and now face FC Utrecht of Holland on Sunday in the last warm up game before the seasons opener against West Ham.

Bruce says that the players have grafted in readiness and now need the real thing, they need to smell the 'hot dogs` as he puts it, Bruce said:

"The lads have worked very hard but now they need the proper ball to come out."

'They need to smell the hot dogs again, hear the crowd, and get ready for the real thing."

'We are all raring to go. I'm ready for the season, now we've just got the one dress rehearsal left at Utrecht on Sunday.'

Lets hope that when the hot dogs are served there are plenty of onions on there as well
