Maynor Figueroa Pleases Bruce

Maynor Figueroa Pleases Bruce

Wigan Athletic and Honduras international defender Maynor Figueroa is delighting manager Steve Bruce with his progress at the Latics

Figueroa signed on loan last January but didn`t feature until the last game of the season against Manchester United at the JJB when he put in a tremendous display whilst marking Cristiano Ronaldo.

The young Honduran has re-joined Latics on loan for a further 6 months with a view to a permanent switch to the Latics from his current club Honduras side Deportivo Olimpia.

Bruce said on Figueroa:

"We have got him long term and we are delighted with him"

"The three South Americans are doing well, but we parked Figueroa for four months and I think that`s the secret. You don`t rush them, let them adapt"

"He is a very fine player"

"We are very pleased with Maynor, he had his debut against Manchester United, I am pleased with all of them"

Hopefully Figueroa will become a permanent Latics player sooner rather than later
