Wigan Secure Win in Last Warm up Game

Wigan Athletic went to Holland to face eredivise side FC Utrecht and came away with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Daniel De Ridder and Kevin Kilbane.

With Amr Zaki unavailable Steve Bruce opted for a 4-5-1 formation with new recruit Olivier Kapo playing in the 'hole` behind lone striker Emile Heskey

Unfortunately Heskey went off after 25 mins injured to be replaced by Marlon King

A Daniel De Ridder free kick after half an hour sent the Latics in 1-0 at the break and a Kevin Kilbane volley mid-way through the 2nd half settled the game in Latics favour.

There were some good performances from Melchiot and De Ridder and Henri Camara looked lively when he came on as a substitute for Wilson Palacios in the 2nd half.

Full match report will appear on baskervilles return from the Netherlands via Liverpool airport.
