Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov after tabling a bid believed to be about 28m.

United have even delayed having their official team photo so they can include the Bulgarian.

Blackburn left-back Stephen Warnock, 26, has handed in a transfer request to push through a 4m move to Newcastle.

Fulham and Hull are tracking Osasuna's 32-year-old Uruguayan striker Walter Pandiani who played for Birmingham in the Premier League in 2005.

Anton Ferdinand has turned down a new 2m-a-year contract at West Ham a deal that would have trebled his wages.
