Wigan Athletic - Carling Cup Draw

The Latics will find out who their opponents are in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup when the draw takes place tonight following the last of the round 1 matches.

Latics along with the other Premier League clubs entering at this stage and some selected Championship sides, will be seeded and there will be a pre-draw draw to see if the seeded teams will be playing at home or away.

Some of the non-seeded sides that Latics could draw are:

Preston North End
Southampton
Coventry/Aldershot
Leicester City
Colchester United
Swansea City
Nottingham Forest/Morecambe
Carlisle United
Leeds United
Brighton
Oldham Athletic
Northampton
Huddersfield Town
Hartlepool United
Yeovil Town
Cheltenham Town
Crewe Alex
Luton Town
MK Dons
Darlington
Rotherham United
Grimsby Town
Macclesfield Town
Notts County

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur will all enter at the 3rd Round stage due to their European commitments.

I am looking forward to a good cup run so hows about starting with a home tie against say, Preston?

It turned out to be Notts County at The JJB
