Kevin Kilbane Named in Ireland Squad

Wigan Athletic left sided player Kevin Kilbane has been named in the Republic of Irelands squad to face Norway next Wednesday by manager Giovanni Trapattoni.

It was thought that Killer had retired from international football for family reasons but some of his words were miss-quoted and he was quick to point out that he was very much still available for international matches if selected.

Kilbane is currently on 86 caps and no doubt would love to play in at least another 14 games for his adoptive country to get to the magical 100.

Good luck on that quest Killer from all at Vital Wigan

Republic of Ireland squad: Given (Newcastle), Kiely (West Brom), Bruce (Ipswich), Delaney (QPR), Dunne (Manchester City), Finnan (Liverpool), Foley (Wolves), Kilbane (Wigan), J O'Brien (Bolton), O'Shea (Manchester United), Duff (Newcastle), Hunt (Reading), McGeady (Celtic), Miller (Sunderland), A Reid (Sunderland), S Reid (Blackburn), Whelan (Stoke), Doyle (Reading), Keane (Liverpool), Keogh (Wolves), Long (Reading), Murphy (Sunderland).

Oh man, i'm Irish and this is bad news. The guy has been around for years and never performs for ireland!
Gleeson_23
Good lad Killer, lets hope he gets the 100 caps, he's been a good servant to the Irish over the years
worbo
Say what you mean Gleeson_23, dont hide your words ;) He might not be the most talented player but at least he'll give you 100%
worbo
I suppose, he does have the experience for the younger lads and we do have a lot of them. He's a bit of a donkey though. I have no doubt he'll do well for your lot this season!
Gleeson_23
Cheers Gleeson_23....I cant see Killer getting in our side too often this coming term, we have a quality left back and with DeRidder/Valencia/Koumas fighting for two wide berths I cant see him starting there either. This will be a season whereby Killer provides cover, and he is a donkey but like a donkey he works his socks off
worbo
haha, i like that, good comeback to the Donkey comment. :)
