Bring On Chelsea Says Boycie

Wigan Athletic defender Emerson Boyce cant wait for Sundays first home game of the season against title favourites Chelsea and says that the Latics have a point to prove

Boyce said:

'You want to play against these big teams to prove a point. If we get a draw people will say we've done well. If we don't get anything then nothing will be lost."

'They are a quality team with a lot of fire power. But we want to test ourselves against the best players."

'We held Chelsea at their place last season and it went a long way in keeping us in the division. We played well and frustrated them. Everything went to plan."

In last weeks game at West Ham the first half didn`t go to plan and Latics were two down inside the first 10 minutes, Boyce said:

'We showed how we could play in the second half at West Ham. In the first half we made them look like world beaters."

'We just didn't turn up early doors at Upton Park. But after that we can take a lot of heart out of our performance. We've got to learn from that and move on.'

Boyce believes that Latics home form is the key to a good season and the JJB will hopefully become home sweet home as far as Latics are concerned, Boyce continued:

'If we have good results at home we can definitely stay in this division'

'It's proved that over the years."

'The bad pitch benefited us last year when the it wasn't as good because teams didn't look forward to coming here.

'The pitch is looking a lot better now and we're looking forward to playing on it.'

Nice one Boycie, he sounds as excited as I am feeling about tomorrows game
