Wigan Athletic Look East for New Deals

Wigan Athletic are looking to Korea in search of new sponsors and new players, according to reports.

Last week a high ranking delegation from the Latics, well John Benson and Brenda Spencer, flew out to South Korea for some high level meetings with representatives of a leading Korean Sportswear firm

Apparently JJB will be appearing on Latics shirts for the last time this season and also the stadium name will be changing before the years out.

Earlier in the week we were linked with South Korean forward Chu-young Park and also Lee Chun-soo is now being linked with a move to Wigan

So Korean appears the way to go as Dave Whelan looks to the East to generate some big money to enable the Latics to compete in signing the worlds top players, lets hope that all he is after is sponsors and not as rumoured buyers.

i wouldnt be surprised if he looked to sell. Even with his wealth it is nothing compared to the Learners, Lasiers etc.

Well it would be fair to say that in players like Palacios, you have managed to pick out some absolute gems out of the hat and maybe you can do so in Korea as well. And so much money is in the Asian markets these days that I'm sure it's very lucrative to look for sponsorship out there.
