Fantasy Footie Standings Week 2

Fantasy Footie Standings Week 2

The Vital Wigan Fantasy Football mini league is starting to take shape with the second round of results now in.

Sitting proudly on top of the pile is the very appropriately named Pie Eaters Athletic managed by Jason Gaskell whilst propping up the table in last place we have Gadsdonia FC managed by Gadsdon.

In between these two positions there has been plenty movement and I am pleased to report that Gidlow Latics have made an almighty leap up the standings and are heading for the top half of the table.

In the words of Brian Clough, 'it`s a marathon not a sprint` so Gaskell keep looking over your shoulder because we are all coming for ya ;)

Gillingham 1-1 Wigan Match Report

Being top of the league didn't last long, did it? We'll leave that talk until May from now on. We drew 1-1 with a well-drilled Gillingham side.

Paul Cook made one change to the side that beat Southend United 3-0 on Saturday. Ivan Toney returned to the starting line-up, replacing Will Grigg.

It was an open first 20 minutes, which saw both sides miss good opportunities. Gavin Massey, Nathan Byrne and Dan Burn all had chances to open the scoring, while Sean Clare came close with a vol
