Kevin Kilbane Suffers Depressed Fracture

Wigan Athletic left sided player Kevin Kilbane suffered a depressed fracture of his cheekbone in todays 5-0 thrashing of newly promoted Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Kilbane received an elbow to the face when challenging a Hull player close to the touchline and it was immediately obvious that he had a serious injury.

Latics boss Steve Bruce said:

"Killer has a depression on his cheek and you don`t need to be a doctor to know its fractured"

"He will have an operation tomorrow and if all goes well he will be back in around 6 weeks"

Sorry to hear it, your lads played very well and that foreign winger was great. Sadly so early in the season ours were on the injury list. Bar Geo it was our champs side - ie. not nearly good enough!
