The Latics enjoyed their best ever Premier League result whilst Hull City tasted defeat in the top level for the first time, there has been a lot said about the game already by pundits and the like, but the views that matter are those of Latics boss Steve Bruce and Hull boss Phil Brown, lets see what the had to say:
Steve Bruce:
"Stupid as it sounds, that's probably the worst we have played so far"
"We got off to a great start, but the first 20 minutes of the second half were vital.'
'If Hull had got one back it could have been difficult. The big difference was the way we took advantage of their mistakes.'
'It's a vital win for us. These are the teams we have to beat. We did it last season and it's important to do the same this time."
'It was difficult coming here, make no mistake about that. We thought it was going to be as hard as it was going to be."
'Even after 20 minutes when we had scored two, they were really up for it. The crowd is going to be vital for them, I've been involved with teams that come up and Phil Brown has got some decent players.'
'I thought the outstanding player on the pitch was Valencia, he had a fantastic match'
'Zaki is doing what we thought he could do and all those trips to Cairo have proved worthwhile."
'We hope that we've unearthed one there and we hope he keeps doing what he does, which would be fantastic for us.'
Phil Brown:
'They had five shots on goal and scored from all of them.'
'We played some good football and at half-time I thought we were still in it. But we didn't give ourselves a chance with some of our defending. That's what I can't accept.'
'It's a tough one to swallow. One or two of our players were less than 100 per cent and we were punished for it.'
