Heskey Wants Wigan Stay

Heskey Wants Wigan Stay

Wigan Athletic forward Emile Heskey has played down any suggestion that he could be heading off for pastures new before the transfer window closes shut tomorrow.

Heskey has been strongly linked with moves to Spurs and Panathinaikos of Greece this last week but he is more than happy to rebuff these approaches and continue his career at the JJB.

Although the Greek side are in the Champions League it would mean settling in a new country for himself and his family and whilst the Spurs link would take him down to London so would signing for Millwall, why would he sign for a club that is doing nothing on the pitch?

Heskey told reporters at Latics photo shoot on Thursday:

'The chairman spoke to me recently about my future and he said that until I came up to him and told him I wanted to go then he wouldn't entertain any bids'

'I'm not going to do that because I don't want to leave. I'm doing well at Wigan.'

Unless there is an earth shattering offer expect Heskey to stay exactly where he is

Talking about deadline day signings the new site poll is available on the right side of this page and it is asking which areas of the team need strengthening before the transfer deadline passes at midnight tomorrow

Video Highlights - Wigan Athletic 0 Nottingham Forest 0

The action(?) from yesterday's game at the DW Stadium between Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest which ended goalless:

Report - Latics 0 Forest 0 - What A Shocker

Thirteen games to save our Championship status, first up a home game against Nottingham Forest who are on a shocking run of form, conceded 10 goals in their last three matches, three of their first choice defenders missing through injury, they had lost 11 of their 16 away games this season with a -16 goal difference on the road and sat just six points above us in the table, surely a game that we would set out to win.

Checking the team selection I felt slightly optimistic but slightly conf
