Scharner Named in Austria Squad

Wigan Athletic defender Paul Scharner has been called up by the Austrian FA for their World Cup qualifiers against France and Lithuania despite missing the last three Latics games.

Scharner hurt his ankle in Austrias friendly with Italy two weeks ago and missed the Chelsea and Hull Premier League matches and the Carling Cup tie with Notts County

In a statement the Austrian FA have said that Scharner is expected to be fit for Saturdays match against France.
