Wigan Athletic Player Ratings

Wigan Athletic Player Ratings

In a new feature on Vital Wigan members are going yo rate the players each week

For the first ever Player Ratings we have forum regular Laticattack starting us off with this weeks ratings

Kirkland - Good to see him back and fit. Didn't put a foot wrong although Hull hardly tested him. Made one decent save. 7

Melchiot - Usual assured performance & linked well with Valencia.7

Bramble - Solid at the back. Strong in the tackle & got every header. The man is class as long as he keeps his focus. 7

Boyce - Mr dependable as ever although the tigers were toothless in attack. 7

Figueroa - Another assured display. Technically good, quick, won't be pushed around and had one decent shot blocked. 7

Valencia - a constant threat, he had a great game. Took his goal very well & was always a counter attacking threat. Hull couldn't handle him. 8

Cattermole - broke the play up well & most of his tackles were good. Gave the ball away too much 6

Palacios - pure class. Had a good game, just needs to add a few goals to his armour. Always a threat to Hull. 7

Kilbane - distribution from corners and free kicks was poor, but thankfully Hull's defence was worse. Kapo & Koumas are far better players but we wish him a speedy recovery. 5

Heskey - looked fit again. Linked up play well, great in the air & scored a great goal. 8

Zaki - what can u say? The fans favourite. A constant menace to Hull's defence. Chased everything, worked tirelessly, and boy does he know where the goal is. The speed of his second goal was unbelievable, what a good spot by the linesman! 8
