Wigan Athletic - Busy Day in the Departure Lounge

Wigan Athletic - Busy Day in the Departure Lounge

Dead line day passes and Wigan Athletic are three players lighter, Rachid Bouaouzan goes to NEC Nijmegen on a season long loan, Carlo Nash is sold to Everton and Antoine Sibierski is sent on loan to Norwich for three months.

Latics failure to bring in a new forward meant that Henri Camara`s proposed move to Stoke City didn`t go through and we have now got a squad that will take us through till January at least.

Although the players who have left were fringe players it has left us a little lightweight in certain areas, up front we have lost both Sibierski and Marlon King in the last three weeks and surprisingly we have only two keepers with first team experience at the club.

I say surprisingly because Carlo Nash to Everton, now honestly who saw that one coming.

There were some big deals yesterday, none more so than Robinho moving from Real Madrid to Manchester City for £32.5 million, is he that good? Well we will be able to find out very soon, City are at the JJB on the 28th of this month.

Manchester United finally got their man with Berbatov signing in at Old Trafford and Latics target Fraizer Campbell going to Spurs on loan as part of the deal.

Brentford v Latics - Big Game Preview

A difficult game for the Latics this afternoon as they travel down to Brentford, the Bees have been scoring for fun so far at this campaign on their home turf, but we need to build upon a good win against Wolves on Tuesday and turn around our away form.

The Latics pulled out of the bottom three courtesy of Will Grigg's late, late winner, Grigg was of course signed for the Latics from Brentford, where some say he wasn't given much of a chance under Mark Warburton, so he will be eager to go
