Amr Zaki is Making All the Headlines

Wigan Athletic and Egypt striker Amr Zaki has caught the medias eye this week and he is making a lot of headlines following the sensational start that he`s made to his Latics career.

In the four games that Zaki has played he has scored four goals with his brace in Saturdays demolition of Hull City earning him many plaudits.

Sky Sports gave him a rating of 9.6 whilst the BBC and Daily Mail have him in their team of the week, indeed the Mail rave about the 'peerless` Zaki.

With a headline of 'Stats don`t lie` the Daily Mail conclude that Zaki is the Premier Leagues top striker this last week, the Daily Mail say:

'Wigan's Amr Zaki was the Barclays Premier League's top striker over the past week, according to the boffins at Championship Manager.`

'Steve Bruce's 25-year-old Egypt international only had two shots on target and both nestled nicely in the Hull net. That's a magnificent 100 per cent conversion rate and, as a result, Zaki slips straight into Championship Manager's Team of the Week.`

As a footnote Latics midfield man Antonio Valencia also found himself in the Daily Mails team of the week with a goal and a pass completion of 30 from 34 that is a very impressive 88.2%

Is he only on loan? If so, I'd imagine there'll be a few teams sniffing around him at the end of the deal!

Latics v Wolves - Big Game Preview

There is a little bit of pressure starting to mount down at the Latics, no win in seven games and sitting bottom of the pile, the sooner we can get a three points haul in the bag the better.

Gary Caldwell felt that his team were unlucky not to win the game at Preston on Friday never mind lose it, a wickedly deflected effort early on followed by some resolute defending kept the Latics at bay, but a failure to take two excellent chances was the downfall as we lost by the odd goal for the 7t
