Heskey Starts on Bench

Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey will have to be content with a place on the bench for the England game against the minnows of Andorra in Barcelona

Heskey must have been dreaming of a start tonight and a chance to get amongst the goals but Capello has chosen to go with Portsmouths Jermaine DeFoe up front with Wayne Rooney tucked in behind

Its good to see Arsenal youngster Theo Walcott in the starting eleven and this could be just the game for Walcott to burst onto the international scene

England Team:

David James (Portsmouth), John Terry (Chelsea), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Joleon Lescott (Everton), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Stewart Downing Middlesbrough), Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United).

Substitutes: Paul Robinson, Wes Brown, Wayne Bridge, David Beckham, David Bentley, Emile Heskey, Joe Cole.

Lets hope that Heskey gets a run out

God knows how he is there instead of Crouch!!!

Well, once again England improve as soon as Heskey is on the pitch. I think his contribution is always overlooked because, like Crouch, things tend to happen for OTHER players because of his presence, rather than happening directly for himself. I think Heskey is a great player myself
