Heskey on From the Start?

England go into tomorrows World Cup qualifier against Croatia in Zagreb knowing a win would put them firmly in the driving seat in group 6 so expect to see Wigan Athletic forward Emile Heskey and Chelsea`s Joe Cole on from the start

On Saturday against Andorra, for some inexplicable reason, England boss Fabio Capella started Portsmouth striker Jermaine DeFoe as the target man for two wingers, not surprisingly the diminutive forward looked lost as high balls were pumped into the box.

When Capella replaced DeFoe with Heskey at half time the forward line looked a lot more purposeful and Heskey caused a lot of problems for the Andorra defence.

With a confident Croatia to face on their home soil Capella will play it safe and pick the men he knows will do a job for him but still go looking for maximum points.

Another change will see the totally ineffective Middlesborough winger Stuart Downing replaced by Chelsea wide man Joe Cole, Downing just cant make the step up to international level yet Cole is very comfortable and scored both England goals on Saturday.

Joe Cole is confident that England will do well in Zagreb and he told reporters that he can see a win putting Capellas men in poll position to win the group, he said:

'We know it will be tough against Croatia because they have so many good players who can pick you off. And if you don't keep hold of the ball then it is very dangerous.

'But we are going there to win and if we do that then we'll be right in the driving seat as far as qualification is concerned.

'I think even a draw would put us in control, but we will be going out to win.'
