Norwich Want Sibierski Permanently

Norwich City want Wigan Athletic attacking midfield man Antoine Sibierski on a permanent deal down in Norfolk with Canaries boss Glen Roeder keen to sign the 34 year old on more than just a loan.

Sibierski was signed for Newcastle United by Roeder from Manchester City two years ago and the Frenchman was a success on Tyneside so Roeder knows all about his strengths, Roeder told reporters when asked was the deal likely to be made permanent:

'Potentially, yes. It all had to be done quickly in the last few hours of the transfer window last Monday.

'But let's see what happens between now and January.

'Antoine was a fantastic signing for me at Newcastle, and hopefully he will be again here.'

Latics boss Steve Bruce has kept the door ajar for a return for Sibs and says he understands his reasons for wanting to go to Norwich, Bruce said:

'Sibi wanted this move because he wanted to play, which is something I totally understand.

'We have the option to bring him back in January, so no, it's not the end of the road here.

'The big problem when you carry a squad is that everyone wants to play, and it is difficult for a manager to find a balance.

'When you get to the age Sibi is, players just want to play regularly, not sit on the bench every week.

'Norwich were on his trail for six or eight weeks before the move went through. In the end, I let him make the decision of whether he went or not, and it was his call to go and play at Norwich.

'I admire him for doing that. I have no problem with that decision. It's a good move to a good club, and Glenn Roeder signed him for Newcastle a couple of years ago so knows all about him.

'I'm sure Sibi will do well there and we'll have a look at his position again in the New Year when this loan is coming to an end.'

So Sibs has probably played his last game for the Latics, or has he?
worbo
More than likely but i like the guy. When he comes on as a sub he's brill. I don't know why he never started more games for us last season. He's a good one
