Wigan Set to Sign Ghana Goalkeeper

30-year-old Ghana international Richard Kingson is optimistic about joining former boss Steve Bruce at Wigan Athletic following his release from Birmingham City this summer

The Latics sold third choice keeper Carlo Nash to Everton on the last day of the transfer window and with first choice Chris Kirklands injury record another keeper is a must at the JJB with only Mike Pollitt as back up

Kingson is a free agent and can therefore be signed and he is also keen to prove himself folloeing a couple of high profile gaffs whilst at Birmingham, the Ghanaian told reporters:

"Very soon, I will be back in action I am hoping the move goes through to Wigan Athletic.

"Steve Bruce has shown a lot of faith in me. At Birmingham he was good to me maybe because I showed him I am a true professional.

"But I made mistakes in England and have learned from them.

"I am in no doubt that, if I get my chance again, I will prove the first was just a minor dip and not the real me."
