Player Ratings Vs Sunderland

Player Ratings Vs Sunderland

Vital Wigan regular Rabeem rates the Wigan Athletic players performances from yesterdays drawn game at the JJB against Sunderland

Kirkland...7/10

Didn't have much to do but did the business when called upon, and an exceptional Cissé save epitomised that.

Melchiot...8/10

Another brilliant performance from Mr Reliable, got forward numerous times and produced a sinister tandem with Antonio.

Boyce...7/10

Had his better days but did defend well on the whole, but allowed Richardson to dash straight past him.

Bramble...6/10

A reason why Newcastle were happy to get rid, more work on his concentration required.

Figueroa...7/10

Pretty solid especially during the 2nd half and assisted for Zaki's goal with a spectacular cross.

Valencia...9/10

I thought he was at the centre of our much improved 2nd half, proved a threat down the wing again.

Palacios...5/10

Not the same Wilson we know, he looked worn out from his international match and that was clear to see.

Cattermole...8/10

Best I have seen him play, fought and won practically every ball. Was very unlucky to be shown the red card.

Kilbane...6/10

Could have done better, particularly with set plays.

Heskey...6/10

Didn't really have much of an impact in the game but won the majority of high balls.

Zaki...9/10

Always looked hungry for the ball and deserved his rewards with a goal in the end, fabulous strike with his left foot and was unlucky not to have doubled his tally earlier on.

Koumas...7/10

Caused havoc in the Sunderland defence when running forward and always looked for the pass, an intelligent display from Jason.

Kapo...6/10

He was decent and almost scored with an absolute peach of a long range strike.

Scharner...5/10

Didn't have much time on the pitch to make things happen.

Steve Bruce...8/10

Turned the team around after a dismal first half display, and made some great substitutions.

Rob Styles...3/10

An absolute disgrace, another woeful performance which just emulates how bad he is. His decision-making was diabolical.

Cheers for this worbo, my man of the match was probably Valencia although Cattermole was outstanding too.

I feel for Titus but man of the match is difficult as there were so many exceptional performances.

thought u were a bit generous with the bramble and boyce ratings but mainly bramble in particular we would have won the match bar the own goal
