Cattermole Happy at Wigan Athletic

Wigan Athletic summer signing Lee Cattermole is enjoying life at the JJB and he also revealed that the Latics have the potential to do really well this season.

The Stockton born midfield man says that Latics and his former club Middlesbrough are of a similar size but feels the Latics have the better team, he told reporters:

'I believe Wigan and Boro are similar-sized clubs"

'A couple of people have asked me whether it was a step backwards coming here, but I certainly don't think it was.

'I really do think we have a better team than Middlesbrough, and I'm very happy to come to Wigan.

'I think we will do well this year as we have the makings of a good side.
'I'm enjoying playing every week, and I feel I'm a bigger part of the team here than I was at Middlesbrough."

Cattermole said that it was good to know that the manager wants him in the team and that he was also grateful for Steve Bruce pushing the boat out to pay a big transfer fee for him to come to Wigan, he said:

'It's good to know that the gaffer wants to play me. I'm just trying to pay him back by playing well and helping the team.

'He paid a lot of money for me. Other managers might not have taken me, but he stuck his neck out, which I'm thankful for.'

Nice one Lee, though you wont be playing this weekend ;)

Our best signing this summer for me, has been sensational so far and was very unlucky to see red at the weekend. Zaki has to be the best for most people but this lad is still only 20, fantastic potential, a future Wigan captain and England regular.

You've got a point there alivenkickin, but at the moment you have to say Zaki
