Spurs prepare to entertain Wigan Athletic this weekend at White Hart Lane and one thing is for certain. Spurs are in a desperate need of a tonic but with the international break, Wigan may, just may, catch Spurs out and claim something. Unfortunate as it is, Wigan have not claimed a victory against Spurs and the best they`ve done is claim draws against Spurs.
However, will this weekend be a good omen for the Latics? Here`s hoping so. Juande Ramos will not be too happy with his team`s start to the new EPL campaign and this is rather surprising in light of the good team Spurs have but with Berbatov and Keane having said their goodbyes, the front line of Spurs looks slightly weakened but that`s not to say it`s a threat.
The most intriguing of Spurs front line is undoubtedly Frazier Campbell. A very interesting capture and it`ll be interesting to see how he does.
What a time to have an international break though. All depends on that game. If it goes without a hitch, Spurs may have a chance but if anything sour occurs, this`ll be good news for the Latics who may fancy their chances against Spurs and claim their first win against them.
The form of both sides couldn`t be more different - Wigan have made a very reasonable start to the campaign though in truth, their points tally so far is unjustified. It should be more when taking into account their games against West Ham and Chelsea. Both were very lucky to get all three points against Steve`s men. Tottenham, on the other hand, will be looking to get their first win and they might do it this weekend but if fate turns against them, I think the Latics can get something against Juande Ramos` lads.
Never mind a tonic, Spurs are in need of a Gin and Tonic. They will need to be on the lookout for star Amr Zaki who has bagged 4 goals already. He will have all the chances to add to his tally and I think he might score against Spurs as their defence when all said and done is not littered with exquisiteness.
Spurs remind me very much of that expression 'blowing hot and cold` and they are a team that does just that. On their day, they are fantastic to watch but on their off day, its almost painful to watch. Here`s hoping that for two times this season, here at White Hart Lane and at the JJB, they have an off day.
Wigan will need to watch out for Spurs because they do have a decent squad and they will need to be at their best to cope with their players who will be looking to put on a good show for Juande Ramos but all that really depends on the outcome of the international game that Spurs will be playing which means Wigan may hold a slight advantage.
Predicted Score: Spurs 1 Wigan 1: Wigan will look at this as an opportunity to add salt to an already raw wound and I see them walking away from this fixture with a good point in the bag and the point will allow Juande Ramos and Spurs to finally kick-start their season after such a poor beginning.
