Bruce Getting Ready to Sell Heskey

Bruce Getting Ready to Sell Heskey

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is gearing up to sell Latics and England centre forward Emile Heskey in the next transfer window and he is letting others know how much he wants for the big hit man

Bruce speaking to reporters ahead of this weekends game with Spurs hinted that it would need an offer in the region of £10 million to capture Heskey from the Latics and though offers were received during the summer they obviously didn`t meet the valuation that Bruce has on Heskey, Bruce told the press:

'If somebody's going to offer us £10million, for instance, in January, then I've got a decision to make.

'That certainly wasn't the case in the summer, so there wasn't a decision to make.

'There's got to be a buyer and it's got to be an offer big enough to take away an England centre-forward in the middle of the season.

'It's a big, big decision to make on behalf of the club, but one that you have to consider if it happens.

'With the Bosman ruling, he's quite within his rights to say 'I've got ten months left, I'm going to see what develops

'As long as he keeps producing as he is doing for us, then I'll offer him a deal tomorrow and he knows that.

'But he's entitled to keep his options open and see where the club is at the end of the season.'

Lets hope that we have someone to bring in if Heskey is going to be allowed to move on, though it is better to sell him in January than lose him for nothing in June

no one will offer ten million for him when they can have him for free four months later. Mido is saying he wants to stay at Boro now so we may have to look further afield for a replacement

Mido has been left out of the starting 11 today so dont be too sure, he also said that it is sometimes better to move on for a fresh start, he sounded like he was edging his bets to me

I am a Spurs fan and wish to God we had paid £10Million for Heskey in the last window, and bought Owen to partner him also, Heskey is the most under-valued and under-rated player in the league, the one player I've been desperate for Spurs to sign over the last 10 years or so.

Latics v QPR - Big Game Preview

An important game at the DW Stadium tomorrow for the Latics, Gary Caldwell will be hoping to banish the disappointment of conceding a 93 minute goal away at Forest last Saturday that saw a point slip away after coming from behind three times in the game.

QPR are in town, they aren't quite the multi-millionaires that they were the last time that we met, that was in the play off semi-final in 2014, but they do have a squad with lots of quality and will certainly pose a threat.
