Latics Hoping for Home Draw

Wigan Athletic go into tomorrows Carling Cup draw hoping for a home tie as manager Steve Bruce plans a run all the way to the final at Wembley on Sunday 1st March 2009.

Bruce made his intentions clear in Wednesday s demolition of Championship side Ipswich Town when he fielded a full strength side and cruised through the tie with an emphatic 4-1 victory.

The so called big four are still in the competition so Bruce will be looking to avoid these whilst keeping his fingers crossed for a home tie, the ties will be played during the week commencing 10th November with the draw taking place on tomorrow (Saturday), Sky Sports One, during the Soccer Saturday show from 12.15pm.
