Is This The Best Ever Latics Side?

Is This The Best Ever Latics Side?

The current Wigan Athletic side is an absolute belter and this season promises to be a historic one with a genuine chance of winning a trophy or securing a top ten finish in the Premier League a distinct possibility.

But how does it compare to previous sides and could we possibly be witnessing the best ever Latics side?

Paul Jewells side that played the first season in the Premier League was good and with Jimmy Bullard, Jason Roberts, Pascal Chimbonda, Arry DeZeeuw and Leighton Baines there was real quality about the team.

That first season saw a Cup final and a finishing spot of tenth in the Premier League to cap a memorable campaign in our top flight debut, now we have to better that.

I believe we have the capabilities and qualities through out the team to maintain a push to challenge for a Uefa Cup finish and I can also see us winning one of the Cup competitions this season, so I believe this is our best ever side, do you?

Why not take a vote in the poll on the right side of this page and lets find out if the fans rate this as the best ever Latics side

I think you are getting a little carried away, yes this is the best team we have ever had but we have someway to go yet to reach top 6. Us winning a cup would need a run of draws like Pompey got and we aint got that with Arsenal away and I garantee they wont play the same side that canned the Blades.

There is plenty to be excited about with your current squad but the biggest thing going for the current squad is the youth of some of the key players. Palacios, Valencia and Zaki are all likely to just keep improving.
