Antonio Valencia £10 million and Jermaine Pennant

Wigan Athletic and Ecuador midfield player Antonio Valencia is a January transfer target for Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez and he is already planning his move according to the News of the World.

It is understood that Liverpool will offer Jermaine Pennant and £10 million for Valencia a combination that Bruce might find hard to resist, Bruce has worked with Pennant at Birmingham and he is a known admirer of the former Arsenal player and £10 million is more than doubling what the Latics paid for Valencia last January.

Personally I would like us to hang on to and build a team around the likes of Valencia but I can understand the reasons why Bruce would consider it a deal too good to turn down, just over two months to go till the transfer window opens once more and the rumours are already building.

Valencia has been excellent so far this season and its no surprise that others are sniffing around

I'd try and hold out myself for a little bit more to be honest with you but can't say no to Jermaine Pennant - another good winger but I feel he's not as good as Valencia. If I were Steve Bruce, I'd just try and take about 15 mil and buy a really quality winger (not that Jermaine isn't but I feel he's not quite as good as our Valencia - can he score wonder goals?)

I think that would be a very good deal for Latics Pennant is a good player and 10 million represents a good profit as well. Also we wont be able to sign " world class players " at Wigan in the forseable future.

Take the money and Pennant and use the money to bring in a good striker to support Zaki

I can't see why ZAKKY. We already have world class players. This could be the making of Wigan.

Keep hold of Valencia we need players like him. We have quality players all over the team. This is 1 of the best teams we've had in a long time. The big boys didn't make it as big boys selling there best players when a good offer comes in. I dn't want to be a selling club we've done it in the past because we needed to. But we dn't need the money. Pennant is a good players but abit of a trouble maker and a cocky lad, it might disrupt the attmosphere abit. 10 million is okay but not a fare valuation of the player i think they are trying to get him on the cheap to see if we'll quickly take the money. But i truly do feel that with the squad that we have, we can get around the Europien spots. Or even get a trophy this season Most of our players will get into any squad in the prem even the big boys

Given the choice I would prefer it if valencia stayed, but realistically money talks and he'll also want to progress his career with one of the big four!

Keep Valencia why grab the money and run, this guys still young and its hard and very deer to find a right sided player who can run past other players. It is a proven fact that the grass isn't always greener on the other side
