Ferguson Eyes Move For Wilson Palacios

The Sun is reporting that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to sign Wigan Athletic midfield player Wilson Palacios for a staggering £18 million.

The paper claim that they have spoke to a close friend of the player who reveals that there is a verbal agreement between Latics boss Steve Bruce and Ferguson for the deal to be done, they quote:

"You know the rapport between Steve Bruce and Alex Ferguson. They`re very close.

"United have been following Wilson closely for some time. Steve benefited from his rapport with Sir Alex and was able to keep Wilson for six months or a year more.

"Nothing is signed but there`s a moral agreement. Wigan have set the bar high, £18m. It`s possible it could be done in January."

Palacios is clearly set for big things and with reports that Antonio0 Valencia could be off to Liverpool for £10 million in January lets hope that we are not about to witness the break up of this talented Latics team

Wilson Palacios, off to United?

Seems a lot of money for a player who cost £1 mil 10 months ago, I bet Birmingham are really pleased with this ;)

Birmingham will be *****ed off for real. Lets keep him, is this true because he was ment to be going liverpool for 18 million. He has also just signed a new contract Why do we want to rip apart this squad, we can do great things with this squad thats for sure we just need a couple of results behind us to get us going. Bruce is for us not united why would he have agreed to this and make him sign a new contract

are we witnessing the break up of the talented team? it was always going to happen. Depends on the quality of the replacements coming in

Your right there but we can't keep on selling our best players, its not how a team gets be a big club. We'll be chopping and changing each season its not like we need the money. Yeah all these billionaires are coming in but its not all about money

We could buy quality replacements for 18m. This could either be a make or break scenario.

You probably could but i dn't think them players wil come especially in Jan, nobody wants to sell in Jan Brucie will have the money to buy quality players in Jan without the sale of Palacious or Valencia. I think if we keep our squad togeather we only needaround 3 players Bullard, Mido and a defender. We need to keep hold of these players if we can reach the heights that i think we can reach. Theres no point selling or best players
