Scharner not getting on with Bruce?

Sky Sports website is quoting Scharner as saying that Steve Bruce is unhappy that he returned to international football and that this is why he isn't in the starting line up. He also goes on to say that he isn't getting on with the manager at the moment.

Paul Scharner who was voted Latics player of the year last season is very much a man who speaks his mind. He angered many Latics fans with comments attributed to him on his own website last season, about the departed manager Chris Hutchins although his performances under Steve Bruce quickly won the fans around.

His decision to return to the international fold after previously retiring did not bring instant re-instatement and he missed out on Euro 2008 in his home country.

This season he no doubt expected to be first choice centre half but a pre season injury at Barnsley was then re-aggravated on international duty. This coupled with the outstanding form of Boyce and Bramble has meant that Steve Bruce has quite correctly played the men in form which hasn't sat well with Paul.

Ironically Steve Bruce recalled the big Austrian to the starting line up agaisnt Middlesboro last week following an injury to Emerson Boyce.

No one player is bigger than the club and this latest public statement will not endear him to the management.

One thing for sure, with Paul Scharner around , life is never dull!!!!

Sorry Paul you have been out of the side because Bramble and Boyce have been superb

Its time Scharner grew up, he's not been fit and no way should Titus and Boycey have been dropped to accomadate him. Sharner is full of his own importance and is not as good as he thinks he is.

My heart sinks every time I see an article with his name in the title. He does himself no favours wiht his pronouncements.

No prizes for guessing who got the hairdryer treatment after the Boro game then.
