Zaki Short-Listed for African Player of the Year

Zaki Short-Listed for African Player of the Year

Wigan Athletic and Egypt striker Amr Zaki has been named in the shortlist for the African player of the year for 2008, the award will be decided by votes from coaches of the 53 National Associations affiliated to the African Football Federation CAF.

The list of those nominated are:

Amr Zaki (Wigan Athletic, Egypt), Didier Drogba (Chelsea, Cote d`Ivoire) and Michael Essien (Chelsea, Ghana), Mohamed Aboutreika (Al-Ahly, Egypt), Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal, Togo).

The winner will be announced at a special awards gala in Benin in December 2008.
