Wigan started the match the more aggressive, with De Ridder and Kapo showing positive signs early, for about the 1st 10mins of the game Liverpool struggled to get a player forward into Wigans half, Wigan held the ball but just couldn't get enough room to create a chance at goal

The game really started coming to life from about the 25th min onwards, Liverpool through Keane had a great chance to put the Reds in front but pushed the ball wide.

Kirkland took the goal kick which went back to Carragher who sent the ball onto Agger who thumbled and slipped the ball onto the ever pressing Zaki, Zaki with only the keeper to beat put the ball into the back of the net with ease to give Wigan a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute

Liverpool went onto the attack, against Man City Liverpool trailed 2-0 yet came away with a 3-2 win, they clearly didn't want to go down 2-0 against Wigan and Agger made up for his mistake by setting Liverpool's equaliser.

It started on the left, Agger interchanged with Riera with a 1-2 passing on the edge of the box, Agger then beat Cattermole on the edge and set Kuyt up in the box who rifled the ball past Kirkland in the 37th min

After Liverpool levelled Wigan had 2 shots from wide out through Valencia and Kapo both along the ground and not threatening, however at the other end of the park Liverpool was were the action was starting to occur.

Kirkland pulled off one of the saves of the season from a bullet Kuyt shot, at full streatch diving in the air he managed to get his right hand onto the ball and deflect the ball onto the posts which went about 40yrds back into the field of play to give you some indication on how hard the shot was.

Then almost imediatley after that Penatt broke on the right and sent in a brilliant cross, Riera going up and getting his head to the ball in the middle of the box but put it wide, it was a sitter of a header and should have been converted.

From the ensuring goal kick, the ball went down to Valencia who beat 2 Liverpool players in the corner, and drifted along the goal line to chip the ball back into the box onto the left edge, Zaki mid air with his body parraell to the ground scissor kicked the ball and it went flying into the top right hand corner of the goal, it was a brilliant piece of magic from Zaki to get his 2nd right on halftime.

Great match guys. I think we deserved the win in the end but I didn't see the first half so what do I know.

Not sure about the dismissal of Valencia... But very happy for Zaki whose reputation is continually growing.

Valencia should have been given a straight red for the tackle on Alonso.
