Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki was voted the Man of the Match in yesterdays game against Liverpool by voters on Vital Wigan, he was also named Man of the Match in just about every media circle following his sensational performance.
Zaki scored two goals in the game, the first one he pounced when Liverpool defender Daniel Agger tried to play his way out of defence and the second goal was an absolute belter, getting on the end of a Valencia cross with a superb flying volley.
The way that Zaki led Latics front line also caught the eye, considering that he is still carrying an injury and hasn`t trained for nearly two weeks is testament to the guys heart and desire to do well at the Latics
Fantastic performance from a fantastic player well done Amr.
For the record the voting was:
Amr Zaki - 98%
Wilson Palacios - 1%
Daniel DeRidder - 1%
The new poll centres around Valencia and his sending off, Latics boss Steve Bruce and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez have two opposing points of view on how it affected the game with Bruce saying it cost us the game and Benitez saying it made no difference.
What do you think?
Did the sending off of Antonio Valencia cost Latics the game?
The poll is situated on the right side of this page and it is very easy to take part, just choose your option and click submit, it is that simple.
