Attendances Stable at Wigan Athletic

Attendances Stable at Wigan Athletic

A bit boring I know but I worked out the average attendances for this season so far and last season at this stage (4 games)

Average after 4 games this season = 17793

Average after 4 games last season = 18415

At this stage last season we had played Liverpool at home and that game generated an attendance of 24,311

Our biggest gate so far this season was against Manchester City with 18,214 (400 less than last seasons corresponding fixture)

On the whole it looks like we have settled around the 18,000 mark which is fantastic growth considering the 10 year rise through the leagues

Just 7 years ago in 2001/02 our average at this stage was just 6146 so we are at a 300% growth from then

With us maintaining last years average and considering the current economic crisis effecting everyone crowd sizes at the JJB must be looked upon in a positive light

18,000 isnt a bad crowd figure for us and with big games still to come that average will surley rise towards the 20,000 mark
