Valencia Sending off Cost Latics at Anfield

The last poll on Vital Latics asked if you thought that the sending off at Anfield last weekend of Latics midfield man Antonio Valencia had any bearing on the result and an astounding 93% of you said it did.

In the game the Latics were comfortable at 2-1 in front with just 15 minutes left, referee Alan Wiley decided to give Valencia two yellow cards in quick succession, the second one merited but the first was a ridiculous decision, this left the Latics down to 10 men and facing an onslaught from Rafa Benitez` side.

Along with myself the majority of voters reckoned this cost the Latics a famous victory, que sara sara.

This weekend we face Villa at the JJB and have inexperienced referee Mike Jones in charge, Mr Jones` only previous Premier League game this season was the Latics 5-0 victory away at Hull, he booked just one player in that game, a Hull player, more of the same please Mr Jones.

Talking of the Villa game the latest poll is asking for you to forecast the result and is available for you participation on the right side of this page.

Keep 10 men on the pitch and we will beat 'em, up the 'tics

Absolutely! The Liverpool result was a joke, end of. Lawro peeved me off by saying if we keep focusing on that result, there may be trouble ahead but at the end of the day, I think we'll be OK (hopefully). Anyways, bottom line is Liverpool result was just a farce.

Bruce has done a hell of a job there and I honestly think you will be top 10 after watching your lot last week. We got lucky no doubt but last season you guys had the luck. Good luck for the rest of the season and I hope Zaki has the good grace to stay with the club that gave him his chance...
