Ex Villa Player Wants Heskey at Villa Park

Ex Villa Player Wants Heskey at Villa Park

Former Aston Villa forward Garry Thompson thinks Wigan Athletic and England striker Emile Heskey would be a fantastic player for the Villa, he told the Sunday Mercury:

"Heskey would be brilliant for us"

Thompson who played 60 times for Villa scoring 17 goals in the mid 1980`s and is a big Villa fan himself thinks that the Latics hitman is just what the Villa fans would love to see Martin O`Neil take to Villa Park, he continued:

"There`s no doubt that Emile would be a great addition to bring to the club and Villa are looking for competition for places in all positions. I don`t think many Villa fans would moan if he signed.

"Heskey is the same as Wayne Rooney in the way that managers and people who have played with him appreciate what he gives to the team.

"Everybody says they like to play alongside him and that`s a big endorsement for any player."

Unfortunately for you Garry he is our player and hopefully that`s the way it`ll stay

He probably isn't staying put though because Heskey's out of contract at the end of the season and you'll lose him for free because he's not going to sign a new contract if theres interest from Villa, Liverpool etc. Would you rather take the 3m+ for Heskey or lose him for diddly squat at the end of the season. Villa messed around like this with Staunton, Bosnich, Hitzlsperger all over the years and we'd have much rather taken the money when we could have. Unfortunetly for you guys i don't think Emile Heskey will be with Wigan in January as i think Bruce and Whelan will look at the situation and think we better take the money now and run.

I know but you get the feeling if Villa and/or Liverpool came in for him in January he'd be off.

QPR v Latics - Big Game Preview

Another massive game for the Latics, QPR are a team that traditionally we don't do too well against, just two wins in 15 encounters, one of those coming in W12 though so we do have previous there even if it was a while ago.

A win tonight would lift us out of the bottom three and put us just three points behind Aston Villa in 17th, the incentive is there, we need to start taking opportunities are there won't be any more left.

It's likely that Warren Joyce will start with the same si
