Bruce Gives Adams Some Advice
Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce gave Portsmouth boss Tony Adams some advice yesterday following the Latics 2-1 win at Fratton Park he told him not to wear a suit in the rain, Bruce said:
"The advice I would give is don`t wear a suit on a day like today, it was ruined by half time"
Pompey boss Adams has infuriated some Latics fans by showing a lack of humility claiming that Portsmouth are a far better side than the Latics, obviously, and that he is happy that he is manager of Portsmouth and not Wigan, well so are the Latics fans Tony, he told reporters:
'We are a better team than Wigan. I'm glad I am Portsmouth manager and not Wigan manager"
Bruce took more than a little satisfaction in getting one over on Adams and reflected back to their playing days when Adams was the Arsenal and England captain and Bruce though exceptional for his club side Manchester United couldn`t get into the England set up Bruce said:
"He stopped me getting any England caps over a ten year period'
A final word to Bruce who summed up what many already know:
'Welcome to the wonderful world of management. He must be nuts.'

I think that some of those quotes are probably mis-leading - as I doubt very much if he would just come strait out of the blue and say "i would rather managae portsmouth than wigan". If he was asked "who would you rather manage?", then I don't think his comment is too unfair really is it? manage the side that won the FA cup, or the side that just escaped relegation?

All teams in the EPL are decent sides, its just lack of quality and funding. All deserve respect.

Quite so. But Adams is the new boy on the block and I don't think he realises half of what he is saying at the moment. I think he was basically bolstering his side up, and unfortunately rubbished Wigan whilst he was doing it. I am sure he never meant to, but he will learn. Adams (and Poartsmouth) are having a very difficult time at the moment, so hopefully, we can cut him some slack for the time being.
