What the Bosses Said - Latics Vs Stoke

Following the goalless draw between Wigan Athletic and Stoke City at the JJB today Vital Latics takes a quick look at the reaction of the two managers, Steve Bruce and Tony Pulis, lets see what they said:

Latics boss Steve Bruce:

'Credit to Stoke because they had two banks of four and we could not break them down.

'After the break we lifted the tempo but then we were worried about being hit on the break.

'We needed one of our flair players to produce a bit of magic but it did not happen.

'I think it will be the last game on Match of the Day and rightly so because it was not a classic.'

Stoke boss Tony Pulis

'We were smashing defensively. The only disappointing thing was that we had the chance to break on a couple of occasions but gave the ball away cheaply.

'In the last 10 minutes they threw everything at us but we got blocks and a point is a fantastic result. We have to keep putting in performances like these.

'They have thrown their lives down for the cause.'

Well done to Stoke for winning a point but from a Latics point of view this is a very poor result and the team needs to be craftier when playing against sides that put all their men behind the ball
