'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bruce Demands 3rd Eye

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is still fuming following the dismissal of Latics defender Emerson Boyce at Newcastle last weekend, a dismissal that sees Mr Reliable miss Monday nights game against Everton.

Bruce is incensed by Andy Marriner decision and questions why football or at least Premier League football cant have the fourth official act as a 3rd eye, he points the finger at Sepp Blater the FIFA president for his refusal to allow the technology to be used. Bruce said:

'Why can't a referee go to the fourth official after giving a second yellow card and say 'Have I got this right?` I think there is only one man, the president of FIFA, who for some reason does not want that to happen.'

'Yet we see it in rugby, we see it in cricket, we even seen it now in tennis.

'It becomes part of the entertainment for the crowd. It has to come in, the quicker the better.

'The Premier League want to bring technology in and have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on technology to make sure it works.'

It would make sense to use the third eye and surley it would take seconds for the decision to be made with the cameras and monitors at the 4th officials dispossal
