Doyle is being touted as a replacement by for the injured Benitez

25 year old Republic of Ireland international Doyle is valued at 8 million pounds although whether Wigan would be prepared to spend that amount in the current financial climate is open to debate.

Reading are understood to be reluctant to sell as they eye an early return to top flight football.

Doyle has been at Reading since 2005 scoring 51 goals including 19 in two seasons in the Premier League.Doyle has also scored 6 international goals in 23 appearences.

if u guys are willing 2 pay 8 mil for doyle , then u should've paid'em 2 zamalek last summer and got urself a permanent deal with zaki , which is like 10 doyles combined

You don't think we know that already? Hindsight's a wonderful thing but it doesn't change the fact it would be ill advised to make a club record signing on someone who hadn't proved himself in a decent league.
