Zaki to Real Madrid in January

Vital Latics understands that Wigan Athletic and Egypt striker Amr Zaki is heading to Spain in the January transfer window with a deal already in place between Real Madrid, Zamalek and the Latics.

Zaki was due to stay at Wigan until June with the loan deal struck by Steve Bruce thought to give Latics the first option for the prolific marksman, but this has proved false with the pulling power of the Spanish giants and a 15 million fee to Zamalek to much to turn down

It is understood that Real Madrid have negotiated a get out clause for the loan deal and the Latics will receive their loan fee back plus compensation, this will be a great disappointment to Latics fans and could seriously jeopardise Latics chances of success this season.

I don't beleive this, Bruce has always assured that no matter how much teams will offer to Zamalek , Zaki is staying till June.

Well, look at it this way - if this story is true (which I hope it isn't), we've had a top quality striker for half a season, and we'll have been paid for the privilege. I'd have taken that in August.
