Martin O`Neill Eyes Heskey and Valencia

Aston Villa boss Martin O`Neill is casting envious eyes over the JJB with Wigan Athletic players Emile Heskey and according to the News of the World, Antonio Valencia in his sights.

Villa were reported last week to be considering re-launching their August deadline day bid for Heskey that was rejected by the Latics but the introduction of Valencia in to the equation is a little worrying for all Wigan fans.

Valencia is the subject of a 7 million enquiry from O`Neill but surely the Ecuadorian is worth a lot more than that especially has he is only 1 year in to a 4 year contract.

The attacking midfield man is pivotal to Latics success and any attempt to lure him away must be met with 'make us an offer that we cant turn down or go away, 7 million isn`t even his market value.

It is quite obvious that there will be some movement at the club in January and Latics Chairman Dave Whelan has already said that Bruce will need to sell before he buys, that sell I thought meant Marlon King, Antoine Sibierski and Olivier Kapo, not our star man Antonio Valencia.

O`Neill if you want Heskey and Valencia give us Carew and Young in exchange

Cant see him going and especially not for 7 mil

although a straight swap for carew and young would be pretty good
d_manga_fanatic
am surprised City havent been mentioned about buying him.....!!!
lincolnblue
thought Heskey had already said he is going nowhere in January? Unless we buy Owen, I don't want to see us get Heskey, although a bid wouldn't surprise me judging by MON's history with the player.
The Fear
IT WOULD BE A BIG MISTAKE 2 SELL VALENCIA , SPECIALLY IN JANUARY , AND CERTAINLY NOT FOR 7 MIL, IF HE'S TO BE SOLD AT THE END OF THE SEASON THEN WIGAN MUST GET AT LEAST 12 MIL FOR HIM
