Bruce to loan Arsenal young talent

Media reports state that Steve Bruce is attempting to sign Gavin Hoyte, Jay Simpson and Kieran Gibbs on loan during the January transfer window.

Bruce who has signed loan players from Arsenal before when at Birmingham with great success and has a good working relationship with Arsene Wenger who recommended Wilson Palacios to Bruce after a trial at the Emirates.

All three are undoubted talents but it remains to be seen if that is what Wigan require.

Simpson is a similar player to Heskey, if you get Jay it will probably be because Heskey's offski.

Hope we get permanent signings not loan deals....havent we learned our lesson?

little dutch , are u out of ur mind ???? , simpson is nothing like heskey , he is faster than a rocket , and heskey is slower than an elephant . anyways , the best of them is gibbs , he's a lb/lw and he can be very useful to wigan

I agree with b-z, gibbs is potentially the best of the lot, and if Arsenal don't loan him out he'll lose a half year of development playing only in reserve games every two or three weeks and training with the full squad. It's good for Wigan that Wenger has a good relationship with Bruce (one of few from what I can see- Rednapp probably lost his standing moving to the Spuds- meaning he won't be getting our cast-offs at a good price like he did at Pompey)- he sent him loans and sold some of them (Muamba comes to mind) at Birmingham, and if Arsenal can help Wigan in the league with loans, and Wigan helps Arsenal by giving the loanees playing time, then it's win-win.

Of the two defenders, Gibbs is the most polished but Hoyte has the most potential and ability in my opinion.

would b good if we could get vela to come to us on a loan deal :P

Simpson and Hoyte would be a very good snatch. I don't really care if they are loan. If they are playing for us, have quality and are out to impress then to have them at the club for half a season could be the difference between a mid-table and top 8 spot. The ladder is so close at the moment, sign a few quality players be it on loan or not and well if they perform as expected we continue to rise up the ladder.
