Wigan Athletic - Bruce Says Zaki Stays

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has stated that the Latics goal scoring sensation Amr Zaki is staying put at the club until June at least and he says that the biggest thing on the players mind should be trying to win his place back from Senegal striker Henri Camara, Bruce told the press:

'He's not going anywhere, unless it's in June. We've got the agreement with the Egyptian club Zamalek that he's ours until the end of June.

'Every week it's something different. I don't know where it comes from. It's becoming pretty boring if I'm honest. It's tedious that I have to say it again.

'The biggest aim is to keep hold of what I've got. Now, if somebody is going to come and offer an outrageous sum of money then of course we all know what can happen.

'But, in terms of Zaki, I think the most important thing for him is to get back into the team for a start which won't be easy because of the form of Camara in the past couple of weeks and knuckle down to what made him a really good player.

'He's had a hamstring, he's had a bit of calf but this constant speculation...Chelsea this week, Real Madrid last week, Manchester City the week before, Tottenham the week before that, Liverpool the week before that. It goes on and on.

'I think he needs to concentrate and the people who are fuelling these stories want to behave themselves and let him get on with his game.'

I wish he would stay a lot longer than June

There's no chance you'll be able to hold on to him after June, basically because you don't actually own him. Zamalek will send him to where they can make the most money. Just commercial reality, I'm afraid.
