Mickey Mouse and no Latics

Wigan Athletic have no game this weekend thanks to Manchester Uniteds participation in some Mickey Mouse competition but it does give the players a chance to freshen up before the onslaught of 3 games in 7 days.

The club took the opportunity of the free weekend to hold their Christmas party last week, all playing staff, including reserves, headed off to Cardiff following the win over Blackburn Rovers for a 3 day stay in Wales` finest city and apparently a good time was had by all.

This week there has been no news on injuries or illnesses in the Latics camp, lets hope that the trip blew away the cob webs and that the squad are raring to go by the time the 26th comes around with Newcastle in town it should be an interesting game to say the least.

Two days after the visit of three wise men from Newcastle we find ourselves heading off to Bolton in anticipation of a resounding victory over our near neighbours, with the full allocation of tickets sold it should be a tremendous atmosphere and we owe them one from last year when we fell apart and gave our worst performance under Bruce to date.

To round off the festive season of matches its down to London on the 2nd January for a FA Cup 3rd round tie against Spurs for the Friday night televised game.

So back to this weekend and thanks to the world Mickey Mouse challenge my missus has got me doing some last minute shopping and traipsing around the shops of Wigan isn`t my idea of Saturday entertainment

Going to be very bored this weekend

At least I can tolerate Soccer Saturday this weekend. I'm hoping for some all round, good results which will really put our rivals in trouble.

Wouldnt it be good to come out of the weekend still in the top half
