Latics to Field Youngsters in Cup Tie


Wigan Athletic face Morecambe tonight in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup with kick-off at Christie Park scheduled for 7 pm

Reserve team boss Keith Bertschin has selected a young team for the game, but one that has its foundation in the Barclays Premier Reserve League with the two young Poles Tomasz` Kupisz and Cywka, Lewis Montrose and Matty Hampson all set to start.

In contrast to the Latics mainly youth side Morecambe will put out a strong team including the ex Leigh RMI player Michael Twiss, David Artell, Andy Parrish, Michael Carr, Diarmuid O'Carroll and Aaron Taylor.

Latics expected team:

Postlethwaite

Montrose, Pearson, Ashworth, Mustoe

Kupisz, Hampson, Routledge, Redmond, Holt

Field, Gracey, Buxton, Breeze, Kirkbride

The winners of tonights game will face Rochdale at Spotland in the second round of the competition
