Latics and Baggies Both Fancy Stock Taking

Wigan Athletic have been joined by West Bromwich Albion in the race to sign Doncaster Rovers midfield man Brian Stock in the coming transfer window

The ex-Preston North End player joined Doncaster from Deepdale in September 2006 initially on loan before making the deal permanent in January 3007 for £150,000

Stock scored the first goal in last seasons play-off semi-final against Southend United and went on to captain the side at Wembley in the play-off final victory against Leeds United

The 26 year old (Birthday tomorrow 24/12) has played 98 games for Doncaster scoring 11 times, he featured in 8 games for PNE scoring just once, Stock also appeared 145 times for Bournemouth where he started his career and he scored 16 goals for the Cherries.

It is understood that the combative midfield player is available for £1 million
