Wigan Athletic - Valencia`s Agent Speaks

Wigan Athletic midfield man Antonio Valencia is the subject of much speculation at the moment, even the Daily Telegraph have reported that the Latics have received a £14 million bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid however the players agent, Diego Herrera is aware of the rumours linking his client with Real Madrid, but insists the talk is just speculation.

The reports linking Valencia with the Bernabéu is just the latest in a long line of news gossip with the Ecuador international reportedly having lots of suitors including Manchester United, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, again Diego Herrera dismissed these as just speculation.

Speaking to Sky Sports Herrera said:

'I have heard the talk about interest from Real Madrid in the press, but right now it is just speculation

'There is nothing offical and no-one has spoken to me.

'I have also heard about reports of interest from Tottenham and Aston Villa, but no-one has spoken to me about this.

'I have spoken to Wigan manager Steve Bruce and no-one has given him any formal offer.

'He is very keen to keep Antonio as he is one of the best players at Wigan.

'He is playing very well and he is happy there and happy with his team-mates.'

Well lets hope that Valencia stays happy at the Latics for a long time to come

Dont like all this speculation
worbo
don't like it at all but was bound to happen sooner rather than later with valencia especially after his brilliant display they other day which came at the right time for this talk to be turned up a notch. hopefully we keep him for the rest of the season and qualify for a european cup of some sorts which might keep these really talented kids at the club for longer than it would normally
