How quick does this Christmas malarkey come round!
Any way I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and thank you all for popping along either frequently or infrequently to Vital Wigan and taking the time to read or post you are all valued and you are what makes this site what it is.
There are two superb games to look forward to over the festive period, first up we have the Geordies visiting us on Boxing Day for what is becoming a traditional Latics Vs Newcastle fixture on the 26th and out of the many thousands that do turn up from the North East we might just get 3 wise men to make it very festive, there will definitely be a donkey or two in the Toon side and there could well be a Joseph but I doubt very much if there will be a virgin amongst our visitors.
Talking of virgins we go off to the Reebok on Sunday the 28th to face our beloved neighbours Bolton Wanderers or Horwich RMI, I aint too sure what they are called these days.
As this is the season of goodwill I wont be scathing of Megsons men, who to be perfectly honest have surprised me so far, I really did believe that they would struggle this year and talking to a few of their fans I know they did as well.
The Wanderers have had some good results lately and last weeks win over Pompey sent them into 9th spot in the Premier League, dizzy heights indeed for a club that was many peoples tip for relegation this season.
Well I am going to brace my self for the West Pennine air and brave the walk from Blackrod down to the Reebok and see if we cant get a good result just over the border on Sunday, should be a cracking atmosphere with the Latics selling out their allocation and a large number of Wiganers making the short trip.
So I hope everyone has a good break from work, uni, college or school and that we all get the results that we want, 6 points for the Latics and a feast of football and goals
Merry Christmas
